First club meeting for 2010 is Thursday the 4th of February Really cool to have the Taupo contingent down in Christchurch the weekend of the 30th for the Southern Nats Drags. Awesome that Phil Hargreaves (with pit crew Julie and Janet), Garry Ellis, Andy Chapman and Darryl Robinson (with pit crew Lesley, Alexa and Georgia) went to race. It was a stinking hot day - to start with. Qualifying didnt get started until midday and racing at 4pm. Garry was going a tad slower than normal in Andys tow car - the holden ute but managed to break out in the first round of racing. Darryl made it through to the second round but was over anxious (as Phil puts it) to leave the line. The ute was trailered. Unfortunately for Phil there were only 3 cars in Super Gas so he went all the way down there for exhibition runs, although he did pick up points for showing up. The weather turned in a moment and it went from steaming hot to windy and cold. The wind then affected the racing for those using parachutes. It was decided they'd do 1/8 mile instead of the 1/4 mile. Andy was still in the racing when last sighted. Andy and Garry are continuing on to Nelson for the next round. Good luck guys. Darryl did a personal best at practice on the Friday night - 12.89!
Next club meeting is Thursday the 4th of February Craig Morrison has sent thru a link to YouTube for the Powercruise. Go to YouTube on the Main Menu click on the address provided Club meeting Thursday 17 November - the club has bought a new vacuum cleaner. Who'll be the first to want to hot it up - slicks, bonnet scoop, bug catcher, flames along the sides... Garry E did a new personal best at Meremere last weekend, 11.17 120.5mph and he says, not a trailer in site! The clubrooms will be open after the drags at the Lake Taupo International Dragway on the 4th of January. Head along to the track and support our guys racing. Thanks Trev for the snarlers and bread at the club for Christmas. Phils going to the Southern Nats at Ruapuna on the 30th of January. Good luck with that Phil, bring home the points. Some changes have been made to the Website. The original home page, which was about the club is now under "About Us". This home page will be the info page now, which hopefully will keep you up to date with what happened recently or happening in the near future. Under "Gallery" are photos, there are menus of different events, and the members area. This is where you can upload your own photos. If you want to put some photos on the site but dont want to do it yourself email photos to me and I'll put them on for you. Otherwise if you want to be able to update your own picture gallery, contact Gary to learn how to do it. Thursday the 17th - Club Meeting and Christmas BBQ 7p, There'll be just a short meeting, then afterwards a BBQ and a few "quiet shandies". The bar will be open and the club will provide snarlers. Bring your family along and more food if you think you might be hungry. - Thanks to everyone who went in the parade on Saturday. Under gallery will be photos of that.
- Gary is working on getting a programme sorted to be able to upload photos of the Snow Run. As soon as he gets it all done and ready you'll be able to see your pics. I'll be learning how to put photos on the website too so hopefully soon we'll have an awesome picture gallery. Gary is still working on DVD's of the 2009 Snow Run.
- Bathurst at the club was a success, thanks to Les for organising it all. He got hold of a mini grandstand to watch the race on a big screen, and the food kept coming all day, AND, the bar made a profit. He's keen to do it again next year so hopefully more members (and mates) will come along. Bonus at the end of the day, it was Matts birthday and his partner having slaved over a hot stove all day (ah, that might be a Tui) presented him with a Chocolate and Baileys cake, which he was obliged to share. YUM! Thanks for that.
 - The Christmas Parade is coming up - Saturday the 5th of December. About 9 guys have indicated they're keen to show off their babies. We'll get more details about where and what time to meet closer to the date. Great publicity for the club, and yeah, your cars.
- Cruise for a Cause was a HUGE success - bigger than expected by some! One car had 140 tickets for rides.
- Four new members attended the meeting on Thursday (5 Nov) - Jason, Cam, Gary and Craig. Next club meeting is Thursday the 3rd of December. Have a look at the Club events calendar to keep up to date with what happening where and when, and if you want anything added that you're attending, email Lesley.
