Taupo Rod and Custom club was formed in 1974 and became affiliated to NZHRA in 1976. We cater for all tastes in cars and interests. Being in a small town we don't have the luxury to pick and choose the style we want and this has been good, because we get a good cross section of hot rodders and drag racers as well as others just interested in cars, along to the club. We are hosts of the annual Snow Run since 1989. This World Famous in New Zealand event has attracted hot rodders from all over New Zealand.

TR&CC has survived all the fads and economic fluctuations that hot rodding and drag racing has thrown at it over the past decade and is now benefiting from a big increase in membership, including past members and sons re-joining. Held together over the past few years by a dedicated handful, we have managed to retain the clubrooms we purchased in 1991 when membership was around 25. Current membership is over 30 plus not including family members, giving us a good variety of cars through the hot rodding and drag racing spectrum.

Club meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month in the clubrooms at the AC Baths Reserve, top of Spa Rd. There are also social nights every third Thursday from 7pm.
